With Windows NT 4.0, you can remotely control and configure Win9x registry settings by installing the Remote Registry Service found in the admin/nettools directory on the Windows 9x CD. The Remote Registry Service needs to run on the NT workstation running regedit remotely and on the remote Win95 machine. User-level security and remote administration must be enabled on the Win95 machine.

If you are administrating a mixed NT and Win9x environment, you should know that Microsoft has delivered a method to allow Win9x clients to use NTLMv2 authenication. See NTLMv2 for more information.
